FLOAT is a 4-day non-profit festival for radio drama and audio walks. It will be held in Copenhagen and Aarhus, from the 20th - 23rd of August, 2015, accommodating the growing interest in audio dramatisation and new ways of sound storytelling that are emerging in new contexts outside the traditional broadcast radio stations.
FLOAT - Festival for Audio Dramatisation 2014 was organised by The Radio Drama Network - in collaboration with Danish Broadcasting (DR), Swedish Radio (SR), Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK), Icelandic Radio (RUV), House Theatre and The Danish Association for the Blind
The festival was launched for the first time in August 2014 and presented a widespread presentation of new and old audio dramatisations presented by established broadcasters and independent producers from Scandinavia, Britain, Germany and other European countries.
As this years festival will it showcased audio dramatisation as an art form in its own right, aiming at presenting diversities within the genre and strengthen the nascent listening culture in Denmark.
The festival programmes present an international scale of contemporary classics from established broadcasters along with new form and genre experiments that challenge the listener and proposes alternate listening scenarios.
Parallel with presenting different audio dramatisations, the festival will also provide artist talks, workshops, industry forums and a night café representing different themes.
We look forward to presenting the new programme and provide more detailed information of our participants.
