We are very excited to be introducing this years’ FLYD - audio competition: PIECE16


PIECE16 is an international audio contest, where participants submit a complete audio drama production of 5 to 7 minutes duration in any language ​​with English script and synopsis.


The process of selection will be initiated by shortlisting seven productions via public online voting. All competition entries will be listed for public online voting no later than the 3rd of November, 2016 and closes on the 10th of November - so keep an eye out!


PIECE16 will be launched online here as well as publicly on the eve of the 29th of May, 2016 at ‘The FLYD Market Day’ event held in Copenhagen. Prospective producers and any other with an interest in the world of audio storytelling, no matter where you are in the world, are eligible for this competition.


To enter the competition you must produce an audio drama and meet the following requirements:


  • It must be within the free interpretation of the theme: TRANSIT


  • A maximum length of 5 - 7 minutes


  • The audio drama must have two locations


  • The story must have an auditory core containing a soundscape that interacts

with the play's dialogue.


  • The audio drama must have a clear dramaturgical idea, but it's up to you to choose whether to follow a linear dramaturgy with a beginning, a middle and an end, or whether you want to work with a cyclic, a dream-like dramaturgy or something entirely different.


  • The dialogue may be in any language but must be submitted with an English transcript and synopsis


  • All competition entries must be submitted by the 1st of November, 2016 at 23:59pm.


Rights to all the material in your PIECE16 audio drama should be cleared prior to applying and by signing up for the competition, you give FLYD - Festival for Audio Dramatisation and the Radio Drama Network permission to use your audio drama in any contexts these two committees find favorable.


You need to upload your production in WAV - format on SoundCloud and send a link along with the completed Entry Form - that you can download HERE - to flydpiece@radiodrama.nu



If you do not comply with the competition requirements or have not filled out your entry form correctly, have not use the correct format or do not comply with the entry deadline, your competition entry will be considered invalid.
